American Flag Destroyed, ISIS Flag Flies At Utah High School!
Investigators don’t know who was responsible!
A Utah high school was defaced by pro-ISIS propaganda Thursday. The American flag that normally waved from the flagpole was torn down and shredded, replaced with an ISIS banner. Graffiti scrawled on the school’s wall read “ISIS is COMI.”
A spokesman for the Hurricane Police department,Ken Thompson, told reporters that authorities don’t know who the culprit is. It might be a student who just wanted to play a prank, it might be a legitimate ISIS-supporter seeking to rattle the community.
“Officers have received tips this morning and they’re following those leads and so far they haven’t generated a credible lead but tips can help us out a lot,” he said.
Extra officers were sent to parole the Washington County school Thursday. The beefed-up security presence is expected to continue until authorities are convinced that students and faculty members are safe.
“[B]ased on information we received from the FBI we do not believe this act was perpetrated by someone linked to the Islamic State,” Hurricane PD said in a statement.
“This investigation is ongoing and investigators will continue to follow-up on leads.”
This has been a rough week for America’s high schools. A devastating school shooting in Florida claimed 17 lives Wednesday. Copycat attacks were threatened at multiple locations. Advocates are screaming for change.
If the incident at the Utah high school was perpetrated by an ISIS-sympathiser, it wouldn’t be as unusual as it may seem at first. Eight years of lax border security under the Obama administration allowed countless potential terrorists to slip into the country.
Islamic extremists are now embedded in America society, spreading their poisonous ideology and waiting for a chance to strike. The group has been effectively destroyed in the Middle East, its strongholds seized by American-backed forces.
Yet fanatics across the globe are still pledging support to ISIS’ vile mission.
“The good news is, you know, the caliphate is crumbling and that’s positive for all of us,” FBI Director Christopher Wray told the House Judiciary Committee.
“The bad news is, ISIS is encouraging some of its recruits and potential recruits to stay where they are and commit attacks right in the homeland.”
Wray admits that the FBI is currently investigating over 1,000 terrorism-related threats.
The attack on Hurricane High School was mild. No one was injured; the school quickly yanked down the ISIS flag and replaced it with a fresh American one. Still, students and faculty members are understandably wary.
Most of the ISIS supporters in the U.S. are young men. They’re white, black, and everything in between. “The big takeaway is that in terms of legal cases, they’re trending younger,” a terrorist researcher found. “The average age is 26, but in one-third of the cases, they were 21 years or younger.”
Unfortunately, it’s very difficult for law enforcement to identify crazed Islamists. Agents can’t arrest someone until they commit a crime. Being a young, devout Muslim with a penchant for violence is reason enough to pique agents’ interests, but there’s often little that they can do.
“Foreign fighters are not a monolithic entity, and not every one of them is like the guys you see in recruitment videos,” said Peter Neumann, director of the International Centre for the Study of Radicalization.
“Young people are going, quite old people are going, even women are going. Their motivations vary as well.”
President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions have both promised to focus on combating terrorism on our soil. Barack Obama didn’t know enough. Because of his lack of firmness, the county is now infested with ISIS sympathizers.
Terrorists with American accents have released chilling recruitment videos. ISIS propaganda is always hard to watch, but it’s particularly unsettling hearing the hateful words spoken in a familiar accent.
“You entered into the White House on the back of your crusader rhetoric, which the fake media has pressured you to tone down,” an ISIS commander said in a threatening video directed at President Trump.
“Your feelings and hatred towards Islam has already been revealed… you are now witnessing your fake victory… Your war against Islam has only made your homeland more vulnerable and your society is cracking into chaos.”
